Orrick Lays Off 40 Lawyers, 35 Staffers

The layoffs come as two other San Francisco-origin firms are dissolving. Orrick's layoffs are in the corporate, real estate and structured finance practices.

SAN FRANCISCO - Bad news abounds for San Francisco-origin law firms. Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, one of the city's largest firms, said Thursday that it laid off approximately 40 associates and counsel, as well as 35 staff.
