Last week, the Internet Governance Forum met in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, bringing together government, corporate and public-interest representatives from around the world to discuss the future of the Internet. Although the tone of this meeting was subdued compared to its predecessors', the controversy over continued American control of key aspects of the Internet escalated.
