'Extreme Makeover' Reality Show Leaves Bitter Aftertaste

Column - By Garry Abrams - No good deed goes unpunished, as the saying goes. But twice? Over the last few days, the cast and crew of the ABC network show "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" may have pondered the cynical aphorism warning that generous acts can have unexpectedly nasty consequences and that supposedly saintly motives may not be entirely pure.
