'Extreme Makeover' Reality Show Leaves Bitter Aftertaste
Column - By Garry Abrams - No good deed goes unpunished, as the saying goes. But twice? Over the last few days, the cast and crew of the ABC network show "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" may have pondered the cynical aphorism warning that generous acts can have unexpectedly nasty consequences and that supposedly saintly motives may not be entirely pure. They also may have wondered whether the heavens have issued a double-barreled admonition about the long-term perils of kindness as entertainment.
