Lobbyist Faces Charges He Defrauded Lenders of $60 Million
LOS ANGELES - Handcuffed and casually dressed, Jack Abramoff, one of Washington, D.C.'s most powerful lobbyists, appeared in a Los Angeles federal courtroom Friday on charges he defrauded two lenders of $60 million in his attempted purchase of a Florida casino-boat company.
