Hispanic Nominee's Fate Lies in Senate's Hands

WASHINGTON - On a straight party-line vote following a politically charged debate, the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday sent to the full Senate the nomination of Miguel A. Estrada to be the first Hispanic judge on the prestigious U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia.
