Terrorists, Animal Abusers Should Receive No Quarter
Forum Column - By Steven Zak - If I were empowered to redraft God's commandments, I'd start by adding two: "Thou shalt not commit terrorism," and "Thou shalt not abuse animals." To me, these precepts - both espousing civility and condemning violence against innocents - seem mutually reinforcing. Some people, though, are too threatened by the thought of protecting animals to see the connection.
