Scrambling to Keep Licenses, Wireless Firms File Chapter 11
LOS ANGELES - In what is believed to be the first case of its kind in the area governed by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, 29 wireless-technology companies have filed for bankruptcy protection in an effort to stop the Federal Communications Commission from revoking their wireless-technology licenses.
