No Independent Probe

Warren Christopher, the man to whom the city turned to reform the Los Angeles Police Department in the wake of the 1991 Rodney King beating, Tuesday rejected calls that he lead an independent, outside probe of the Rampart police scandal - saying such an investigation is premature.
