Bill to bar confidential settlements in public safety cases moves forward

SACRAMENTO — A key state Assembly committee passed a bill on Tuesday that would bar confidential settlements and protective orders that hide the "existence of a danger to the public health or safety."
A long list of organizations lined up on either side of AB 889, with the Consumer Attorneys of California and the Consumer Federation of California in support.
