The Mediation Society at Loyola Law School presented the discussion “Tales of Success and Failure in Mediation” with the Honorable Daniel Weinstein on March 27 at Loyola’s downtown L.A. campus. Hiro Aragaki, associate professor in Advanced Topics in Alternative Dispute Resolution, moderated. “Judge Weinstein is one of the pre-eminent mediators of our generation, both nationally and internationally,” said Aragaki. “This was a rare and unique opportunity to get an inside look into the mediation of complex, high- stakes cases from a true master of the art of mediation.” In 1978, Weinstein helped found JAMS, a provider of mediation and arbitration services. Weinstein served on the Municipal Court of San Francisco from 1978 to 1982 and on the Superior Court of San Francisco from 1982 to 1988. Additionally, Weinstein was associate justice pro tem of the California Supreme Court and the First District Court of Appeal in 1984.
