Associate Justice Richard M. Mosk of the 2nd District Court of Appeal donated his cherished collection of game-day sports program booklets to his alma mater, Stanford University. Most of the booklets are college and pro-football game programs, but Mosk also donated baseball, tennis and soccer programs. Some of the programs date back to 1901 and feature hand-drawn art. Mosk has been an avid collector since he was a child and said he would sometimes send letters to colleges across the country to request them. “I would write to every university in the world almanac,” Mosk said. Mosk’s collection also included a program that displayed cover art from the late Walt Disney. “They had professors in the Ivy League write interesting articles for [some of] the programs,” said Mosk. “Now, they are more or less mass produced.” - Connie Lopez
