Inner City Law Center held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday to celebrate the opening of its expanded space on Los Angeles’ downtown Skid Row. On hand were current and past board members Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Lee Smalley Edmon, former state Supreme Court Justice Carlos Moreno and Los Angeles City Councilwoman Jan Perry. “This bigger space will allow us to continue to expand vital programs designed to protect the most vulnerable members of our community,” said Inner City Executive Director Adam Murray. He said the need for the center’s services has grown over the past few years largely due to a crippling economic downturn. To meet the growing demand, he said the center’s budget and staff have doubled, as well as the number of clients it’s able to serve. The 40-member staff represents low-income people, working poor families, immigrants, the homeless and disabled veterans.
