The California Association of Black Lawyers hosted its 35th Annual Conference and National Bar Association Region IX Annual Meeting April 12-15 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Emeryville, California. CABL, which consists of 6,000 African-American lawyers, judges, law professors and students, honored members of the legal community for their service to the community and pursuit of justice. Honorees included 28 African-American general counsels from companies such as Pandora, Google, Universal Music Group, Wyse Technology, Allergan Inc., Toyota and AT&T Interactive. The three-day event ended in an award and installation gala, where National Bar Association President Daryl D. Parks and California State Bar President Jon Streeter were guest speakers. Keynote speaker for the event was actor and activist Danny Glover.
