State Bar seeks public comment on lower bar exam score

The bar decided to obtain input on a proposal to lower the passing score applied to the July 2017 bar exam to 141.4 from the current 144.

The State Bar decided Monday to seek public feedback on a proposal to lower the passing score applied to the July 2017 bar exam amid concerns about the falling success rate on the test.

The agency will solicit comment on lowering the passing score to 141.4 for solely the most recent exam, while also asking for input on maintaining the current cut score of 144.
