Budget cuts prompt San Diego court staff layoffs
The court’s executive officer claims that it faces a $6 million deficit.
San Diego County Superior Court announced Thursday that it will let go more than 60 staff members — including upper management, court commissioners and family law court reporters — to address budget cutbacks as it faces a $6 million deficit.
Effective Sept. 5, the court will no longer provide court reporters in family law matters for domestic violence restraining order hearings or for request for order hearings of 40 minutes or less...
