Phone calls may net defendant plus lawyer

A risky gambit by prosecutors might ensnare not only rap impresario Marion “Suge” Knight, but also his attorney.

In a petition filed Aug. 10, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said it has gathered evidence of witness tampering, bribery, conspiracy to violate a court order and obstruction of justice from recorded jailhouse phone calls between Knight and his attorney, Matthew Powell Fletcher.
