9th Circuit judge to take senior status

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals will have one more open seat next year, as Judge Richard C. Tallman takes senior status.

Judge Richard C. Tallman announced he plans to take senior status, creating a fifth vacancy for President Donald J. Trump to fill on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

In a letter sent last week, Tallman, who is based in Seattle, informed Trump that he intends to relinquish his active status on March 3, 2018, when he turns 65.
