San Mateo prosecutor disciplined again by State Bar

Deputy District Attorney Melissa McKowan received a public reproval for dishonesty

The State Bar has disciplined a San Mateo County prosecutor for the second time for dishonesty in connection with the prosecution of a man later convicted of child molestation.

Deputy District Attorney Melissa McKowan agreed to a public reproval for falsely claiming that a victims’ rights advocate’s critical accusations about the handling of William Ayres’ case were false.
