The American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit Thursday against Secretary of State Alex Padilla seeking to invalidate a statute that governs ballot signatures.
The ACLU is petitioning the 1st District Court of Appeal to declare unconstitutional a state law that directs voting officials to not count mail-in ballots where the signature does not match the one the state has on file.
