LOS ANGELES — President Donald J. Trump has nominated Andrei Iancu, a veteran patent litigator at Irell & Manella, to be director of the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
If confirmed by the Senate, Iancu, who is Irell’s managing partner, will succeed Michelle Lee, who resigned two months ago. Joseph Matal, a former associate solicitor at the USPTO, is leading the office on an interim basis.
