Jury faults both sides, awards light punitive damages

A federal jury faulted both sides in a defamation and fraud lawsuit award, ending a contentious trial.

SANTA ANA — A federal jury that faulted both sides in a defamation and fraud lawsuit awarded punitive damages to only one on Wednesday, ending a contentious trial that the presiding judge said was beyond anything he’d ever seen.
