Videos help sink plaintiff’s discrimination case
A federal jury deliberated less than five hours before siding with defense attorney Margaret M. Holm of Sedgwick LLP.
Margaret Holm of Sedgwick LLP, representing the Regents of the University of California, defeated a man’s lawsuit after she showed the jury videos intended to undermine his claims.
SANTA ANA — After Aaron D. Gopen left his job as a corporate counsel and opened a practice focused on helping deaf people with legal issues, he filed his first major lawsuit on behalf of a particularly personal client: his brother Justin.
The brother had been deaf since birth and a victim, Gopen believed, of discrimination at one of the University of California’s top medical institutions.
