Second-degree murder verdict in trial where prosecutors were recused
An Orange County jury convicted a man in a long-running case after a judge prohibited a first-degree murder charge.
SANTA ANA — An Orange County jury on Wednesday convicted a man of second-degree murder in a long-running case that involved a judge prohibiting a first-degree murder charge because of altered investigative reports and information withheld from defense lawyers.
Cole Allen Wilkins faces 15 years to life after already serving 11 years for a fatal crash caused by a stolen oven that fell from his truck on an Orange County freeway in 2006...
