US judge denies Qualcomm preliminary injunctions against Apple

A federal judge in San Diego dealt Qualcomm Inc. a double blow by denying the company’s motions for preliminary injunctions in two related suits involving its licensee, Apple Inc.

U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel of San Diego denied Qualcomm Inc. motions for a preliminary injunctions in its lawsuit against Apple Inc.

A federal judge in San Diego dealt Qualcomm Inc. a double blow Friday by denying the company’s motions for preliminary injunctions in two related suits against its licensee, Apple Inc.

U.S. District Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel wrote that Qualcomm failed to demonstrate that it would suffer “irreparable harm” if the court did not order several of Apple’s contract manufacturers to resume making royalty payments.
