Bulgarian politician hires LA attorney to fight US sanctions

A prominent Bulgarian politician and media tycoon has hired a former U.S. attorney in Los Angeles to fight an application for sanctions that was filed against him with the U.S. State Department by a former banker whom he allegedly forced into exile.

A prominent Bulgarian politician and media tycoon hired a former federal prosecutor in Los Angeles to fight an application for sanctions filed against him with the U.S. State Department.

Nathan Hochman of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP confirmed he and his firm were recently retained by Deylan Peevski, a member of Bulgaria’s National Assembly who also owns several of the nation’s largest media outlets.
