State authorizes sale of courthouses
The courthouses are currently not in use and would be first offered to the county.
The California Judicial Council may now sell a number of closed county courthouses across the state, with Gov. Jerry Brown's signing of Senate Bill 403 announced Friday.
The bill requires the council to offer each county the first opportunity to purchase the courthouse properties at fair market value.
