Biosciences company names first general counsel
San Francisco-based pharmaceutical company Calithera Biosciences Inc. named Sumita Ray general counsel and chief compliance officer.

Sumita Ray, a longtime in-house pharmaceutical attorney, has taken the top legal position at Calithera Biosciences Inc. Ray will also take on the responsibilities of chief compliance officer for the San Francisco-based company as it aims for the commercialization of its clinical-stage cancer treatments.
