Wildfires force courts, law offices to close in Sonoma, Napa counties

A series of wildfires raging across Northern California forced Sonoma County to close its courts Tuesday, requiring officals with local and federal courts to cancel all judicial proceedings for an undetermined amount of time.

Vehicles and homes were destroyed by a wildfire in the Coffey Park subdivision of Santa Rosa. Fast-moving wildfires forced Sonoma County and federal courts to close Tuesday while law offices in the region also shut down.

Wildfires raging across Northern California forced state and federal courts in Sonoma County to close indefinitely on Tuesday.

“All of the courts, including satellite locations, in Sonoma County are closed until further notice,” said Joe Langenbahn, assistant to Sonoma County District Attorney Jill Ravitch. “It’s day to day.”
