Former Sonoma County attorney sentenced to prison for wire fraud

A federal judge sentenced Scott Steever, a disbarred Rohnert Park attorney who ran what was once Sonoma County’s largest law firm, to 15 months in prison for defrauding a client of more than $200,000.

A San Francisco federal judge has sentenced Scott Steever, a disbarred Rohnert Park attorney who ran what was once Sonoma County’s largest law firm, to 15 months in prison for defrauding a client of more than $200,000.

Steever, a former shareholder at Lanahan Steever & Anderson, which disbanded in 2012, admitted to taking funds from a client’s trust account and using it to pay the firm’s expenses.
