Real estate attorney convicted of short sale fraud

Robert Farrace, an attorney specializing in real estate law, has been convicted of three counts of fraud in connection with a short sale scheme to sell two properties he owned back to himself.

The trial led by federal prosecutors wrapped up Tuesday, with jurors deciding that Farrace used deceptive means in an attempt to get lenders to approve the short sale of two Modesto homes he owned that were facing foreclosure.
