Legislator to appeal ruling in favor of AG’s language in gas tax repeal measure

The GOP legislator behind an initiative to repeal a recent gas tax increase will appeal his ballot argument case to the state Supreme Court, according to his attorney.

SACRAMENTO — The GOP legislator behind an initiative to repeal a recent gas tax increase will appeal his ballot argument case to the state Supreme Court, according to his attorney.

But it is unclear whether Assemblyman Travis Allen, R-Huntington Beach, will have time to reverse an appeals court decision before he needs to begin gathering signatures to qualify his proposition for the November 2018 election.
