SAN JOSE — Conrad L. Rushing, who was presiding justice of the 6th District Court of Appeal since 2003, retired quietly Monday after an appellate and superior court career of nearly 40 years.
“I’ve told all my friends what I’ll tell you: I’m 80, and I’ll be 81 in a few weeks, and I thought it was time,” Rushing said Tuesday. “I’m working on a book, and found it was nearly impossible while I was working at the court.”
