9th Circuit Judge N. Randy Smith
Judge N. Randy Smith of the 9th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals will retire from active service effective Aug. 11, 2018, giving President Donald J. Trump a sixth seat to fill on the court.
In a letter written to the president on Dec. 1, Smith said that he will continue to sit on the 9th Circuit as a senior status judge.
“I look forward to continuing my career in the service of our country,” he wrote....
