Judge said he will likely let embattled film studio’s lawyers out of an ongoing suit

The Weinstein Company, widely considered one of the largest and most successful film studios in the United States, can’t afford to pay its attorneys.

LOS ANGELES — The Weinstein Co., widely considered one of the most successful film studios in the United States, can’t afford to pay its attorneys.

U.S. District Judge George Wu, during a telephonic hearing on Monday, said he would likely allow two prominent entertainment attorneys from Greenberg Glusker Fields Claman & Machtinger LLP to withdraw as counsel for TWC for failure to pay the firm’s bills.
