Senate Judiciary Committee approves Andrei Iancu to lead patent office

Irell & Manella LLP managing partner Andrei Iancu’s nomination as director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has been unanimously approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The next step is for the full Senate to vote on Iancu’s confirmation to the post, which will also make him under secretary of commerce for intellectual property.
