Attorneys and law students are helping the Orange County transgender community navigate legal name and gender marker changes.

Dannie Cesena said he was afraid to travel outside of California before he completed a legal name and gender marker change three years ago.

Fear about how police officers might react to a driver’s license indicating Cesena was female was one major concern. Persecution while trying to use a public bathroom was another.
