Several agencies will launch a collaborative human trafficking calendar aimed at tearing young girls and boys away from forced sex.

FRESNO — Manicures on a girl who never cared about them before. Expensive clothing when all she used to wear was sweaters and jeans.

A sharp change in appearance is one of the many red flags the Fresno County public defender’s office will look for that hint a girl or boy could be a victim of human trafficking, said Kristen Maxell, chief attorney for the office.
