LOS ANGELES — Goldberg Segalla, the fast-growing firm that originated in Buffalo, New York, opened its first West Coast office in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Managing partner Richard J. Cohen said the firm, with 350 lawyers in 20 offices in 10 states, has been eying California for two years.

“For us it has to be the right time ... the right reason and the right person,” Cohen said.
