WASHINGTON, D.C. — Sen. Kamala D. Harris, D-California, was appointed to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, a move announced Tuesday.
The appointment is a coup for both Harris and California. A former state attorney general from 2011 to 2017, Harris has been rumored to covet a spot on the committee since being elected in 2016.
