SEC staff aims to help companies go public

Senior staff in the Securities and Exchange Commission Division of Corporation Finance emphasized the importance of capital formation and encouraged companies to enter the public capital market.

CORONADO — The head of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Corporation Finance said Tuesday the agency aims to streamline the process for companies to go public without compromising investor interests.

“It is a difficult task to become a public company these days,” Division Director William Hinman said. “I was struck by how much they were focused on compliance burdens.”
