State Bar reaches agreement with employees’ union

After about a year of contentious negotiations that raised the specter of a strike, the State Bar and its employees’ union reached a two-year deal that includes pay increases and a new retiree health benefit for staff.

All union members must now work 40-hour weeks and shift to a compensation/classification structure that factors in the public-sector labor market under the memoranda of understanding announced Tuesday.
