Innocence Project wins exoneration for 3 men in one month

One case handled by the project resulted in a personal apology from the Butte County district attorney.

Paige Kaneb, an attorney at the Northern California Innocence Project, helped win exoneration for two men accused of child abuse. One ended in a personal apology from the district attorney and reunion with the man's now-adult sons.

In three cases connected to child abuse, the Northern California Innocence Project found wrongful convictions and secured the exonerations for the men convicted in a single month. One resulted in a personal apology from the district attorney.

Two of the men were wrongfully convicted of child molestation, and a third was wrongfully convicted of killing his infant daughter through “shaken baby syndrome.”
