State officials queried by business groups on how to comply with new immigration law
State officials are working with business groups to try to clarify how a new law that prohibits employers from allowing federal immigration enforcement agents to enter nonpublic areas of a workplace and inspect employment records without a warrant will be enforced.
State officials are working with business groups to try to clarify how a new law that prohibits employers from allowing federal immigration enforcement agents to enter nonpublic areas of a workplace and inspect employment records without a warrant will be enforced.
Enforcement of the law, AB 450, which took effect Jan. 1, is the responsibility of the state attorney general and the labor commissioner.
