LA jury gives UCLA doctor $13M in sex discrimination case

The research doctor sued for gender discrimination and retaliation after she said a male colleague made her job unbearable.

A jury on Thursday awarded $13 million to a former UCLA research doctor who sued for gender discrimination and retaliation after she said a male colleague made her job unbearable.

Anthony Nguyen of Shegerian & Associates, who with Carney R. Shegerian represented the plaintiff, Dr. Lauren Pinter-Brown, said he was "definitely pleased" with the verdict. They'd asked the jury for $15.9 million.
