Pepe the Frog creator files infringement claim

Artist Matt Furie has filed a lawsuit against Alex Jones and InfoWars.com over the cartoon frog.

After being targeted in a lawsuit over his website's sale of merchandise featuring the purported alt-right mascot Pepe the Frog, radio host Alex Jones vowed Tuesday to launch a counter-offensive against the character's creator.

Created in the early 2000s by artist Matt Furie, Pepe was originally envisioned as a "peaceful frog-dude" who lived blissfully alongside his three anthropomorphic roommates, according to the cartoonist.
