A former Department of Justice attorney was sentenced to 30 months in prison for trying to sell sealed lawsuits he stole from the government.
U.S. District Judge Maxine M. Chesney handed down the sentence on Wednesday in San Francisco. Jeffrey Wertkin pleaded guilty in November to two counts of obstruction of justice and one count of transportation of stolen property.
