Biotech company sues one rival, seeks injunction against another

Biotechnology company Illumina Inc. has sued Natera Inc. for patent infringement over its use of a noninvasive prenatal test.

Biotechnology company Illumina Inc. sued Natera Inc. for patent infringement over its use of a noninvasive prenatal test.

The suit follows Illumina's $27 million win against Ariosa Diagnostics Inc. in January for infringement claims on other patents for prenatal tests. On Friday, Illumina also filed a motion for permanent injunction in that case -- the same day as the new complaint against Natera.
