Attorneys seek PAGA fees in Bakersfield wedding cake case
The motion requests a $438,669 fee award along with a contingency multiplier because the case was taken on a pro bono basis and in the public interest under California’s Private Attorneys General Act.
Attorneys for a baker whose right to refuse to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple was upheld in February have filed for attorney fees in the wake of a judgment entered in their favor.
The motion, filed May 10, requests a $438,669 fee award along with a contingency multiplier because the case was taken on a pro bono basis and in the public interest under California's Private Attorneys General Act.
