A one-week deadline is looming for two bills pending in the Legislature aimed at clearing the backlog of what some have estimated as more than 10 thousand untested rape kits sitting in crime labs across California.

A one-week deadline is looming for two bills pending in the Legislature aimed at clearing the backlog of what some have estimated as more than 10,000 untested rape kits sitting in crime labs across California.
