Apple seeks more than $1 billion in smartphone patent damages

The smartphone wars continued Friday as attorneys for Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. faced off to deliver closing arguments in a damages retrial before U.S District Judge Lucy Koh. The difference in proposed damage calculations offered to the jury by the two sides is monumental, exceeding $900 million.
